Roger is a Chartered Surveyor and a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
For 29 years he worked for the Valuation Office Agency, an Executive Agency of HMRC, valuing and managing real estate for various Government departments. He then had a spell with DTZ, one of the largest real estate companies in the world, as Head of Valuation in Prague, Czech Republic undertaking valuations for corporate multi-national clients within Central and Eastern Europe.
Following another short spell working for HMRC within District Valuers Services (the commercial arm of the Valuation Office Agency), Roger worked with various Government departments and agencies on strategic asset management initiatives as well as other areas of valuation and surveying.
Roger has in the past also worked for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, shaping policy, providing technical guidance and advising members on compliance, risk and best practice issues.
Up until the recent merger with D & P Holt, Roger worked for Shortland Penn + Moore undertaking valuations and investment work for banks, private individuals and investors, a role which he continues as a consultant for Holt Commercial Limited.
He has over 39 years knowledge and experience working in the real estate business with his main focus on valuation and asset management.
When he has any spare time Roger likes to travel, watch sport, play golf, go sailing, cook, read and drink gin & tonics. He is kind to animals but is not a vegetarian.
