telent moves to its new HQ in Warwick

More than 500 new jobs have come to Warwickshire with the arrival of one of the country’s largest providers of technology services.

telent has moved 520 staff from its former base in Coventry to the Opus 40 Business Park on the Birmingham Road in Warwick – a site shared with IBM.

The company, which was formed out of technology giant Marconi in 2006, employs around 2,000 staff, with 1,500 working in the field.

Paul Harris, Group Head of Operations at telent, said the move was very good news for the local economy.

He said: “The whole move went extremely smooth for all concerned and the facility will be totally completed within the next few weeks.

“This is great news for the local economy. We needed to relocate our operations to a facility more conducive to current day activities and we have found a perfect new home just a few miles away.

“There was 80 years of history for us at New Century Park but this represents a new start and gives us a solid and predictable business base from which to work.

“These are high end jobs and will be a boost to the local economy.”

Justin Quibell, of commercial property agents D&P Holt who are marketing the business park nationally, said the site – owned by Opus Land – offered massive potential to the area.

He said: “We are delighted that telent is staying in the region and has relocated to this location, which is perfect for a company of its size and sector.”

“The site is already home to IBM and we are drawing up some extremely exciting plans which could see around another 2,500 jobs attracted to the area.”

“The Opus 40 Business Park is a mature, attractive and accessible site in an area which will appeal both to expanding companies and those looking to relocate to this area.”
