D&P Holt were represented at MIPIM 2009 by David Holt and Justin Quibell, in support of the Coventry partnership comprising the City of Coventry, Advantage West Midlands and 16 private sector companies including their clients, Cannon & Kirk the developers of the 3,000,000 sq ft Friargate scheme, and other clients of theirs including Deeley, Coventry University, MCD Developments and Stoford. Jaguar, one of the partners, had the new XF Diesel on display outside the Majestic Hotel, fully branded with the partnership colours, which drew considerable attention. This was also the venue of a major networking early evening cocktail party, where John McGuigan made a short presentation, outlining the exciting opportunities in Coventry and the considerable achievements the City has achieved to date and the funding which has been promised through AWM.

There were over 18,000 delegates at MIPIM this year and D&P Holt reinforced existing client relationships and lay the foundation for some new business opportunities.
The mood of MIPIM was surprisingly upbeat, and whilst most companies had had to “retrench” they were now looking selectively for new business. Major new development projects are still difficult to fund, but that has not deterred companies progressing the planning and infrastructure design works in readiness for when the market improves, as is the case for Friargate.
David and Justin had a busy diary during their three days in Cannes, where the weather and French food were superb.
The Coventry partnership continues to promote the City on a wide basis.
