News Full Image A world leader in the design and manufacture of dental healthcare equipment is smiling from ear to ear after opening its UK headquarters in Coventry.

Planmeca, which is based in Finland and employs nearly 2,700 staff worldwide, has moved its main UK office and showroom to the Ricoh Arena.  It was assisted in its move by commercial property agents D&P Holt, which is based in the city.

The firm’s product range covers dental chairs, imaging and CAD/CAM systems that are aimed at dental practices, hospitals and clinics as well as universities.  It has maintained a satellite office in Stevenage but Coventry will now be its flagship UK HQ.

The location of the Ricoh Arena and the facilities available made it the perfect choice for the company, according to Luke Broadhurst, Planmeca UK’s Marketing Director.

He said: “The Ricoh Arena is our main office and HQ and we also host training sessions for distributors and customers.  The showroom is also based here where we have appointments with customers who are interested in our product line and also where we host dental courses for dentists and dental care professionals.

The location and the transport links make it easy for customers to reach and the facilities – such as the hotel and restaurant on-site – are great for when we are hosting our distributor training sessions and dental courses as everything is close by to our offices and showroom.

The conferencing facilities at the Ricoh Arena will also enable us to host bigger events for our customers outside of our showroom as well.

Overall, this is a very positive move for the company and we look forward to a long and successful future in Coventry.”

Rupert Gillitt, of D&P Holt, acted on behalf of the Ricoh Arena in the deal on the 4,200 sq ft office.  He said: “It’s great to welcome Planmeca to Coventry and to the Ricoh Arena.

They are a major international company in the field of dental healthcare and it is testament to the city and to the venue that they have chosen this as their UK base.

Everyone is aware that the Ricoh Arena hosts world class sport, major events and conferences and exhibitions – and it’s also home to businesses too.”
